ROLE OVERVIEW

The TV Programs & Data Researcher is responsible for analyzing audience data, market trends, and content performance to support programming decisions. This role ensures that AREWA24 TV continues to deliver engaging, high-performing content aligned with audience preferences and business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct in-depth research on AREWA24’s programs and other television content, including genres, formats, and audience appeal.
  • Analyze viewership data, ratings, and audience insights to guide programming strategy.
  • Monitor competitor channels and platforms to identify trends and content gaps.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for content acquisition, scheduling, and development.
  • Track performance of existing programs and produce monthly analytical reports.
  • Work closely with programming, drama producers and commercial teams to align content with audience demand.
  • Support the development of new show concepts through audience and market research.
  • Maintain databases of program performance, audience demographics, and industry benchmarks.
  • Utilize analytics tools and research platforms to interpret viewing behaviors.
  • Prepare quarterly presentations and reports for management.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media research, broadcast analytics, or data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and research software.
  • Knowledge of TV ratings systems and audience measurement methodologies.
  • Understanding of content trends across TV and digital platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience working in a television network or media organization.
  • Familiarity with audience measurement tools (e.g., MPS / AMPS, Nielsen or similar systems).
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
