Reaching over 45M viewers, AREWA24 is fully distributed as a free-to-air satellite channel and as part of all major PayTV lineups – DStv, GOtv, Startimes and Canal+.

AREWA24 produces a wide variety of programming content across genres and formats at it’s high-capacity production studios in Kano, Nigeria, and dubs international shows into Hausa at its three full-time Hausa dubbing studios.

Jacob Arback

Chief Executive Officer

Jacob Arback, AREWA24’s CEO has over 35 years of executive level leadership, management and operations experience in Africa, the Middle East, the US and Asia spanning the global television, media, satellite communications and manufacturing sectors. Jacob is responsible for all of the company’s management, content production, business and financial operations. Previously, Jacob was the Co-Founder, and for six years, President of The Africa Channel, a U.S.-based television channel featuring African life, music, film, entertainment, arts and culture and distributed by the top cable and satellite providers in the U.S. and throughout the Caribbean

Jacob was a Vice President at DIRECTV-International, one of the preeminent payTV services in the U.S. and internationally, where he was responsible for establishing satellite-based pay television partnerships in Africa, the Middle East, India, S.E. Asia and Central Europe. Jacob holds a Masters Degree in Middle East Studies and International Business from the University of Michigan and has lived and worked in Nigeria, Egypt, Kuwait and Turkey and has traveled extensively throughout Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Celestine Umeibe

Deputy CEO and Commercial Head

Celestine Umeibe is in charge of the company’s critical sales, revenues, distribution, marketing and business development functions and runs AREWA24’s Commercial office in Lagos, Nigeria. Prior to joining AREWA24, Celestine served as Public Relations Manager at Continental Broadcasting Service Limited, the owners of TVC News, TVC Entertainment, and Radio Continental 102.3FM, among other properties. While serving as the company’s Head of Commercial, Celestine helped to launch the first Nigeria-based pan-African news channel (TVC News). Preceding his executive service at Continental, Celestine was the pioneer head of the brand & marketing communications unit at NTA-STAR TV NETWORK LIMITED (StarTimes), overseeing the new payTV platform’s entry into Nigeria from inception to launch. He also served in the public relations, advertising and content management department at StarTimes. Celestine holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree from the University of Lagos and a Master degree in International Relations from ITI-RI, Université de Strasbourg, France. He speaks English, French and Igbo (Nigerian Language).

Aisha Lawal Umar

Director Studio Productions

Aisha is the Director, Studio Productions for AREWA24, where she is responsible for all AREWA24 Studio show productions, production staff, new show development as well as on-air coaching for the channel’s on-air personalities. Prior to her current senior executive position, Aisha was the Executive Producer of AREWA24’s flagship daily breakfast show, ‘Gari Ya Waye.” Before joining AREWA24, Aisha was a researcher/reporter/presenter for African Independent Television (AIT). Aisha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.

Rabiu Adam

Head, International Programming and Localization

Rabiu is the Deputy General Manager and Head of Production for AREWA24. Rabiu is responsible for all in-house productions, promos, PSA’s and the supervision of three full-time Hausa dubbing studios. Prior to this role, Rabiu was the Co-Deputy General Manager and Head of Content Production, a role he held from May 2019 to March 2020. Rabiu joined the company in AREWA24’s very early days as an editor and was part of the television channel’s 2014 launch team. He was promoted to Senior Editor in 2016 and then to Lead Editor 2017. Prior to joining AREWA24, Rabiu worked with SUNNAH TV as a consultant and for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA Kano; NTA Dutse; NTA Gumel; and NTA Hadejia). Rabiu holds a Diploma in Computer Science from the Police Collage - Lagos and a Diploma in Film and Television Production from PEFTI Institute Lagos, along with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Kano State University of Technology

Nuradeen Muhammad Tahir

Head of Finance and Administration

Nuradeen Muhammad Tahir is AREWA24’s the Head of Finance and Administration. Nura’s fields of expertise cover Finance, Accounting, General Administration and Human Resource Management. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Chartered Manager with the Nigeria Institute of Management. Nura has attained two Master's Degrees; an MBA in Human Resource Management and a Master's in Accounting and Finance, both from Bayero University Kano. Prior to joining AREWA24 in 20218, Nura worked for international non-governmental organizations in education and nutrition projects. He was part of the Girls Opportunity for Advancing Literacy 2 (GOAL2) project funded by The MacArthur Foundation at Mercy Corps and the Nutrition Project funded by European Commission (ECHO) at International Medical Corps.

Sandrose Agbo

Head of Creative Services

Sandrose Agbo is the Deputy Head of Production/Head of Post-Production for AREWA24, and is actively involved in all studio, drama and commercial productions for the company as well as managing the studio’s editors and post production process. Prior to this position, Sandrose worked as a Colorist on the AREWA24 drama Series, “Kwana Casa’in” from September 2019 to March 2020. Sandrose is a graduate of the National Film Institute in Jos, Nigeria and brings over 12 years of experience in filmmaking, studio and television productions. Sandrose has worked as a Film Instructor and Consultant with the Nigerian Film Corporation-Jos, InnerHub Film Academy-Lagos, and Moving Image Film Academy-Kano.

Kadiri Yusuf

Head of Studio Direction

Kadiri is AREWA24’s Head of Studio Direction, responsible for direction and staff leadership for all of AREWA24’s popular studio shows. Kadiri began his professional television career in 2004 with Silverbird Television as a Staff Cameraman and continued rising at Silverbird to became the Head of Production/Camera Unit from 2006 through 2017. Kadiri then joined Linda Ikeji Television as Head of Production and News Production until he joined AREWA24 in 2018. Kadiri is an alumnus of the Federal Polytechnic in Anambra State, the New York Film Academy and MNET’s Training Program, “Studio 53” in South Africa.

Zuwairiyyah Adamu

Co-Head Writer

Zuwairiyyah is the Head Writer for AREWA24’s team of talented and experienced writers. Zuwairiyyah leads the writing team in blocking and scripting the television channel’s long-running and hit drama series, Dadin Kowa and Kwana Casa’in as well as directing scripts for commercial television productions. Zuwairiyyah is responsible for supervising the writing processes, creation of storylines, plot sequences and final review for the production teams, blocking and plotting of the stories, writing / scripting, and reviewing and editing of the final scripts. As a freelance writer prior to joining AREWA24, she wrote scripts for Kannywood movies and television series, along with radio dramas. Zuwairiyyah holds a National Certificate in Education/Fine and Applied Arts from the Federal College of Education-Yola a degree in Education and Economics from Bayero University in Kano, and a Post-Graduate Graduate degree in Guidance and Counselling, also from Bayero University.

Nasir Adam Salih

Co-Head Writer

Nazir Adam Salih is one of Northern Nigeria’s most experienced and accomplished writers. Nazir has published 32 Hausa novels and has written many scripts for feature length Kannywood movies. Nazir is currently Co-Head Writer for AREWA24’s internal writing team and is the lead writer for arguably Northern Nigeria’s most popular hit drama series, Kwana Casa’in (“90 Days”). His experience includes ideation, blocking and scripting, translation, radio productions and voice acting. Earlier, Nazir was part of the writing team behind AREWA24’s other hit drama, the Award-winning television series drama series, Dadin Kowa. Nazir also has experience in various NGO/Developmental projects, including such topics as girl child education, Polio eradication and early breast feeding.

Yahaya Shu’aibu Musa

Head of Social Media, Streaming Services and IT

Yahaya Heads up AREWA24’s highly engaged Social Media Department and also manages AREWA24’s global streaming service, AREWA24 On Demand, along with the Company’s IT function. He possesses Cloud Computing Certifications and Networking from renowned providers (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, etc.) Additionally, Yahaya holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. In 2018, Yahaya assumed the position of Social Media Associate (Web Master) at AREWA24, specializing in General ICT, Cloud Computing Operations, Digital Media, and Streaming Services. Yahaya is active in a number of tech associations and professional groups, including the Cyber Security Expert Association of Nigeria (CSEAN), Google Cloud Developer Group (GCDG), Internet Society (ISOC), and Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA).

Adedayo Mustapha

Head of Finance

Dayo brings over 20 years of senior executive experience in financial planning, systems planning and corporate management, with special expertise in television and media. Dayo started his career as a management consultant and has worked in finance departments of notable companies such as Vmobile Nigeria (now Airtel), Camac Group, and Hi Media Limited, where Dayo served as Assistant General Manager (Finance). A chartered accountant by profession, he has spent several years offering business management services to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), before joining Network Arewa24 Limited. Dayo holds a B.Sc. degree in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University, he is an associate member (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a student member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
