Position Title: Television Production Editor

Job Summary:
The Television Production Editor is responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting. This material will include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects. The editor’s expertise plays a crucial role in the post-production process, significantly impacting the quality and delivery of the final product.
As a member of the production team, the editor will collaborate closely with drama directors and show producers to achieve the desired outcomes. The editor must demonstrate creative ability and proficiency with digital technology and software to produce high-quality audio and visual content.
Specific Duties Include, but are not limited to:
- Edit video footage, audio tracks, and other media elements to create cohesive and engaging content.
- Ensure the final product meets the standards operating procedure set by the company.
- Work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to understand project requirements and creative vision.
- Review and correct any issues in the final product, such as continuity errors, audio mismatches, and visual inconsistencies.
- Select the most effective shots of scenes considering drama, story relevance, and continuity from rough cuts to final polish.
- Participate in screenings of edited dramas, take notes, and make corrections as needed.
- Produce promos, tune-ins, and trailers for dramas/shows prior to broadcasting dates.
- Perform colour correction, sound editing, and special effects as required.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirement
- Minimum of 5 years of professional editing experience in a recognized media production environment.
- Proficiency in NLE software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro and Davinci Resolve).
- Experience with color grading and motion graphics.
- Knowledge of audio editing principles.
- Strong understanding of editing principles and storytelling techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual composition.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication and organizational skills. These skills are not limited to planning, teamwork, owning your work and curiosity.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to handle constructive feedback and implement necessary changes efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Creative thinker with a passion for media production.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
